Project developed at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, focused on exploring calligraphy and lettering as tools for expression and communication within graphic design.
The project began with the study of handcrafted letterforms, rhythm, composition, and expressive mark-making, experimenting with different tools, techniques, and styles to explore new formal possibilities within the written word.
The process combines calligraphy, composition, and graphic experimentation, translating hand-drawn strokes into a variety of visual applications where lettering takes center stage not only through its meaning, but also through its form, texture, and personality.
The result is a series of compositions that explore the balance between legibility and expression, using calligraphy as a visual resource capable of building identity, creating atmosphere, and bringing a distinctive character to a design piece.
